Top 5 Bowlers with the fastest 100 Wicket in T20I Cricket

T20I cricket started 19 years ago and has made many famous players. Stars like Lasith Malinga and Rashid Khan have played in this format. Chris Gayle and Lasith Malinga have done very well in T20s. So far, only 11 bowlers have taken 100 wickets in T20Is.

5. Ish Sodhi- New Zealand

Ish Sodhi, a leg-spinner from New Zealand, became the fastest New Zealander to get 100 T20I wickets. He reached this milestone in his 78th game against Bangladesh in Christchurch in October 2022. Sodhi has done really well at taking wickets for New Zealand in T20Is. So far, he has played 109 T20I matches and taken 132 wickets.

4. Lasith Malinga- Sri Lanka

Lasith Malinga, a fast bowler from Sri Lanka, was the first bowler to get 100 wickets in T20 international cricket. He reached this milestone in a game against New Zealand at Pallekele in September 2019. By the time he finished his career, Malinga had taken 107 wickets in 84 T20I matches.

Mark Adair, a fast bowler from Ireland, has been doing great for his team over the last four years. He began playing for Ireland in 2019 and recently got his 100th wicket in T20I cricket. He reached this milestone in his 72nd match against Zimbabwe in Harare in December 2023.

2. Wanindu Hasaranga- Sri Lanka

On February 19, 2024, Sri Lankan cricketer Wanindu Hasaranga reached a big milestone. He became the 11th bowler in history to take 100 wickets in T20I cricket. He achieved this by getting out Najibullah Zadran from Afghanistan during a series of three T20I matches between Sri Lanka and Afghanistan. Hasaranga reached 100 wickets in just 63 matches, making him the fastest Sri Lankan bowler to do so and the second fastest overall.

1. Rashid Khan- Afghanistan

Afghanistan’s leg-spinner Rashid Khan became the fastest bowler to get 100 wickets in T20 international cricket. He did it in just 53 matches. Rashid reached this milestone while playing against Pakistan in Dubai in October 2021. At 25 years old, he has played 82 matches for Afghanistan and has taken 130 wickets in T20 internationals.
