5 Biggest Sixes of T20 World Cup 2024

During the T20 World Cup 2024, the pitches made it tough for batsmen to score easily. Teams had low-scoring games in New York and St Vincent, but the pitches in St Lucia and Barbados became better for batting later in the tournament.

The West Indies hit the most sixes with 62, just ahead of India with 61, and Australia with 50. The West Indies also set a record for hitting the most sixes in a single T20 World Cup.

Here are the five longest sixes of the tournament that impressed everyone.

5. Michael Leask – 101m

In the 12th match of the T20 World Cup, Scotland played against Namibia in Barbados. Namibia batted first and made 152 runs. Gerhard Erasmus was their top scorer with 52 runs.

When Scotland started batting, they were at 73 for 4 wickets after 11 overs. Then Leask came in to bat. In the 18th over, Leask hit a fantastic shot off Ruben Trumpelmann’s slower ball, sending it 101 meters to the boundary.

Leask scored 35 runs off 17 balls but got out in the same over. Despite this, Scotland chased the target successfully with nine balls to spare.

4. Aaron Jones & Heinrich Klaasen – 103m

Aaron Jones played a great innings under pressure against Canada in the 2024 T20 World Cup. He scored 94 not out from 40 balls, leading the USA team to a win by seven wickets. During his innings, Jones hit a huge six, 103 meters long, off Dillon Heyliger.

On the other hand, Heinrich Klaasen also hit a 103-meter six in the final against India. His shot off Axar Patel sailed deep into the stands at mid-wicket. Klaasen scored 52 runs, the highest for South Africa, but India won the final by seven runs.

3. Sompal Kami & Rahmanullah Gurbaz – 105m

In an exciting game between Nepal and South Africa, South Africa batted first and scored 115 runs. Nepal needed 16 runs from the last two overs. In the second-last over, Sompal Kami hit a massive 105m six off Anrich Nortje’s slower ball. Even with this big hit, Nepal lost by just one run in a close finish.

In another match, Rahmanullah Gurbaz scored a brilliant 80 runs off 56 balls for Afghanistan against New Zealand. He hit a powerful 105m six off Daryl Mitchell’s delivery in the second-last over. This helped Afghanistan reach a total of 159/6 and win by 84 runs.

2. Phil Salt – 106m

In a T20 World Cup game in Barbados, England’s opener Phil Salt hit a massive six that traveled 106 meters against Australia. Even though Salt (37) and Buttler (42) started well, England lost by 36 runs. Australia scored a strong total of 201 runs. Mitchell Starc bowled a full delivery to Salt early in his innings, and Salt hit it so well that the ball went onto the roof at mid-wicket.

1. Rovman Powell – 107m

In T20 World Cup match 18, West Indies played Uganda in Guyana. West Indies captain Rovman Powell came in to bat when the team was at 76/2 after 10 overs.

In the next over, Powell hit a huge shot off Dinesh Nakrani, sending the ball 107 meters out of the stadium. He scored 23 runs before getting out. West Indies ended with 173 runs.

Later, West Indies bowlers did well against Uganda, and they won the match by 134 runs.
