Franchises Adjust Spending Strategy

With finances running low, teams adopted a more cautious approach. Several big names like David Warner, Jonny Bairstow, and Shardul Thakur went unsold or were picked up at their base prices. RCB, however, engaged in some competitive bidding, including securing Krunal Pandya for INR 5.75 crores after a battle with Rajasthan Royals.

Meanwhile, Chennai Super Kings made a surprise move by signing Sam Curran for INR 2.4 crores, significantly lower than the INR 18.5 crores Punjab Kings had spent on him the previous year.

The auction also featured some unexpected decisions. RCB chose not to use their RTM for Will Jacks, who had impressed them last season, allowing Mumbai Indians to sign him for INR 5.25 crores. RCB also made strategic picks by acquiring former MI finishers Romario Shepherd and Tim David for INR 1.5 crores and INR 3 crores, respectively.
